Adept Grant
SALISBURY, MD--Drs. Harel Barzilai and Homer Austin of the Department of Math and Computer Science in the Richard A. Henson School of Science and Technology at Salisbury University recently received a $513,000 grant from the National Science Foundation.
The grant is funding the Allied Delmarva Enhancement Program for Teachers, or Math ADEPT, a three-year project of six courses aimed at certifying Maryland educators in teaching middle school mathematics. The NSF grant pays the full tuition of those participating. ADEPT reaches out to the nine Eastern Shore of Maryland counties plus Accomack and Northhampton counties in Virginia and Sussex in Delaware.
