Salisbury Pops Presents 'Strike up the Band!' Concert

SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury Pops presents its annual spring concert, “Strike up the Band!” 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, in Salisbury University’s Holloway Hall Auditorium.

Directed by Lee Knier, the concert features signature pieces including George and Ira Gershwin’s “Strike up the Band,” Leonard Bernstein’s “Mambo” from West Side Story and John Williams’ “Raider’s March” from Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Guest trumpet soloist Kara Lewis, a senior at James M. Bennett High School and daughter of SU employees Mike and Cassy Lewis, performs Franz Joseph Haydn’s Concerto for Trumpet.

Tickets are $10, $5 for seniors. Admission is free for students and SU faculty and staff. Tickets are available through SU’s online box office.

Patrons are asked to park in Camden Lot F (Blackwell Hall).
