Jackson Chamber Series at SU Continues with Arroyo Ensemble

By SU Public Relations

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Peter and Judy Jackson Chamber Music Series continues with a concert by the Natalie Arroyo Ensemble 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.

Founded by Arroyo, an award-winning multi-instrumentalist and composer from Mexico, the ensemble performs traditional and contemporary music of northern and central Mexico, featuring guitar, violin, Mexican jarana, double bass, Peruvian-flamenco cajón and voice.

Its music consists of traditional Mexican pieces and new compositions that mix the roots of northern Mexican music with Latin rhythms, consolidating its sound in a fresh and innovative way. Improvisation of the violin and a festive atmosphere characterize the ensemble’s worldwide performances.

The Jackson Chamber Music Series provides opportunities for live chamber music concerts to be heard and enjoyed on the Eastern Shore.

Co-sponsored by the Office of Cultural Affairs; World Artists Experiences, Inc.; the Embassy of Mexico; and the Mexican Ministry of Culture admission is free and the public is invited.
