SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury University Dance Company presents its spring concert “Fresh Tracks” Friday-Sunday, April 12-14, in the Black Box Theatre of Fulton Hall.
Directed by Helen Myers, curtain is 7:30 p.m., 2 p.m. Sunday.
New York choreographer Jon Lehrer created a new piece for the company titled “Ellipses.” This lyrical duet explores the relationship of two spiritual beings working in harmony.
Jessica Hindman, SU faculty member, choreographed a Bob Fosse-inspired classic jazz dance “Le Jazz Hot.” Myers’ new work, “Twisted Tales and Other Assorted Oddities,” is a humorous take on a familiar fairytale.
Jennifer Yackel’s dance, “Ghost Island Suite,” is inspired by the once-inhabited islands of the Chesapeake Bay that have succumbed to their surrounding waters. Jennifer Leung Johnson’s dance explores movement embodying light reflecting off moving water.
Paige Houseal’s piece, “Harmony,” is a contemporary dance centered around friendship and support.
Tickets are $15, $10 for seniors and $5 for SU faculty, staff and students. Tickets are available through SU’s online box office.
