A Woman's Perspective art exhibit

SALISBURY, MD-- An exhibit of paintings by six upper level art students at Salisbury University is on display through April 15 at the Cool Beans Café in the Guerrieri University Center on campus.

The art show, "A Woman's Perspective," reflects the growing diversity of SU's student body as well as the greater Salisbury community. The students, who study with Professor Jinchul Kim of the SU Art Department, are Petra Bernstein, Caroline Aubin, Rachel Woodard, Candice Calderon, Esther Jean-Louise and Cheryl Hartnett. They come from a variety of backgrounds and countries-Germany, Haiti, Canada, and United States-and have representational styles and unique and deeply personal perspectives on the world around them.

For example, Bernstein's works are clearly autobiographical while with Calderon's paintings their meaning is less clear and more secretive.

Cool Beans Café is open Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m.-midnight and 11 a.m.- midnight Saturday and Sunday. During spring break, from March 25-29, Cool Beans will be open from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. and closed March 23,24,30 and 31.

The public is cordially invited.
