Academy of Management Conference
SALISBURY, MD--- Dr. Frank Shipper, Dr. Denise Rotondo and Dr. Richard Hoffman of Salisbury University's Perdue School of Business recently had their research accepted for presentation at the 2003 Academy of Management Meeting in Seattle. "The Academy of Management Conference is the preeminent academic conference in its field, and the most selective of presenters," said Shipper.
Shipper, Rotondo and Hoffman will present their paper, "A Cross-Cultural Study of Linkage between Emotional Intelligence and Managerial Effectiveness." The piece investigates emotional intelligence of managers in America, Europe and Asia and finds striking cultural differences regarding emotional intelligence and managerial effectiveness. Dr. Joel Kincaid, assistant professor of economics, assisted with the graphical presentation and interpretation of results. The paper will be part of a session titled, "Building Collaborative Knowledge and Wisdom: International Leadership."
This is the 18th time that Shipper has been selected to present; this is his 11th consecutive year of presentations. Hoffman has presented 10 times and Rotondo five times. At this year's conference Shipper will serve also as presenter on a panel titled, "Collaboration Of Management Academicians Through The Democracy Of The Internet." He will speak about how the Internet allows people to collect, analyze and provide feedback on management development programs throughout the world.
