Senior Student Art Exhibit opens on April18

SALISBURY, MD--- The Salisbury University Department of Art presents its 29th annual Senior Student Art Exhibit on Friday, April 18, at the University Gallery in Fulton Hall. The student works will remain on display through Tuesday, May 13.

The exhibit features an exciting mix of media, including blown glass, drawing, painting, computer-aided graphic design, photography, sculpture, digital printmaking and ceramics.

The artists will be in the gallery during the opening night reception from 6-9 p.m. Refreshments will be provided by local vendors.

"If anybody wants to see an example of the cutting edge, be it design, painting or 3-D, this would be the place to find it, at this 29th annual senior show," said graphic design professor Paul Flexner.

Painting professor Jinchul Kim said this year's show will showcase "unique individuality" and a "professional energy."

These professors, as well as other Art Department faculty, will be in attendance opening night.

Maher of Severna Park, MD; John Callahan of Easton, MD; Doug Phillip of Salisbury; Lauren Gandee of Annapolis; Jamie Nusbaum of Middletown, NJ; Arthur Chiles of Bowie, MD; Brandi Shobe of Pocomoke City, MD; Melissa Carlson of Woodbine, MD; Katie Heagerty of Upperco, MD; Lanie Bologna of Westminster, MD; Sarah Ward of Ellicott City, MD; Jennifer Reed of Beltsville, MD and David Rodriguez of California, MD.

Students displaying ceramics pieces include Aaron Krug of Westminster, MD; Nicole Beauchemm of Ocean City, MD; Kelley Nolte of Hagerstown, MD and Brendan Roddy of Rockville, MD.

Students displaying 3-D pieces include Joshua James Goodyear of Salisbury.

Students displaying 2-D pieces include Emily Cullison of Charlotte Hall, MD; Jen Kolendowicz of Great Meadows, NJ; Carolynn Tucker of Parksley, VA; and Matthew Lynn of Brownsville, MD.

Students displaying photography pieces include Jodi Hudson of Salisbury and Vernon McIntire of Snow Hill, MD.

Admission to the exhibit is free, and the public is cordially invited.
