Area Residents Appear in A Midsummer Night's Dream

SALISBURY, MD---Several area residents are appearing in the Salisbury State University Bobbi Biron Theatre Program's A Midsummer Night's Dream. They are: Daniela Sovea, Christine Hall, Gregg Pica, Timothy Dykes, Sean Kumar, Ben Rayne and Mike Killmon of Salisbury; Martha and Paul Pfeiffer and Chris Bosies of Delmar; Jefferson Boyer of Whitehaven; and Pat Ambler-Perry of Ocean City. The play is directed by guest artist Charles Duff from Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London, England

Sovea is assistant director. She is working toward her Master of Arts in English. She has been active at SSU serving as vice president of the International Group.

Hall is appearing as Cobweb. She recently toured with Up With People and Sesame Street Live. She is the lead singer for two bands, They Say and Bombed Out Cat.

Pica is Puck and Philostrate. He was last seen on stage in the title role of Dracula.

Dykes portrays Egeus. He was last seen on stage as the Baker in Into the Woods at SSU.

Kumar, a sixth grader at Salisbury Middle School, plays the Indian Boy. This is his first stage performance.

Rayne is Robin Starveling, a Mechanical. He has appeared in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Dracula and My Fair Lady.

Killmon is a musical fairy. A junior at Salisbury School, he is active with the yearbook staff, trck, soccer, travel study 2000 to England, community service programs and the Spirit Club.

Martha Pfeiffer is appearing as Titania and is also serving as choreographer. A teacher at Salisbury Middle School and an SSU alumna, her recent productions have included Into the Woods and The Relapse. She has directed and choreographed several musicals at SSU including Grease and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Paul Pfeiffer, director of SSU Theatre, is appearing as Oberon. He was last seen on stage as Lord Foppington in The Relapse and Salieri in Amadeus. His one-man show, An Apology for the Life of an Actor, was recently performed at Stratford-upon- Avon, England, for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Bosies plays Snug, one of the Mechanicals. Active in both SSU Theatre and the Salisbury Community Players, he was last seen on stage in The Music Man and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

Boyer is Peter Quince, also a Mechanical. He earned his M.A. in English from SSU. Previous SSU performances include Anything Goes and The Taming of the Shrew.

Ambler-Perry plays Hippolyta. At SSU she has appeared in Dracula, Twelfth Night and Rumors. She also directed Crimes of the Heart for the Ocean Pines Players.
