Center for Economic Education Sponsors Lecture by Kemper Baker of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond on Thurs., February 10

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury State University's Center for Economic Education, a collaborative effort of SSU's Perdue School of Business and the Seidel School of Education and Professional Studies, sponsors a lecture presentation by Kemper Baker, vice president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, on Thursday, February 10, at 3:30 p.m. in SSU's Holloway Hall Room 119. His presentation, free and open to the public, is on the current long-lasting economic boom, its sustainability and U.S. monetary policy.

A graduate of Lynchburg College, the University of Virginia and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking, Baker joined the Federal Reserve Bank's staff in 1974. He has been active in bank and public relations, public information, economic education, business development and regional economics. In addition he has been active in banking research and analysis and has spent a dozen years tracing and analyzing economic and business conditions in the Fifth Federal Reserve District, as well as the progress of banks through the legislative, regulatory and competitive changes of the 1980s.

The Center for Economic Education at Salisbury State assists K-12 teachers in both public and private schools to improve economic education in local classrooms and is one of nine centers throughout Maryland affiliated with the National Council of Economic Education.
