DiPaolo to speak at Nabb Center March 11

SALISBURY, MD ---The Edward H. Nabb Center for Delmarva History and Culture at Salisbury University presents a lecture on 19th century local history by the Rev. Joseph F. DiPaolo on Tuesday, March 11, at 3 p.m. at the Nabb Center.

DiPaolo discusses his book, My Business Was to Fight the Devil: Recollections of Rev. Adam Wallace, Peninsula Circuit Rider, 1847-1865. Wallace is known locally as biographer of the Methodist itinerant minister Joshua Thomas, the "parson of the islands." The author explores Wallace's memoirs about life on Delmarva during the antebellum and Civil War eras. Wallace left behind insights and revelations about local religious, social and cultural norms of the day.

Born and raised in New York City, DiPaolo now resides in Pennsylvania. He is pastor of a 185-year-old church and has written two other historical works.

The talk is free and open to the public. For more information call 410-543-6312 or visit the Nabb Center Web site at http://nabbhistory.salisbury.edu.
