Elmore Scholarship Recipient Announced"  

SALISBURY, MD---Kayla Neighbors of Bloxom, VA, has been selected this year’s recipient of the Margaret Johnson Elmore Nursing Scholarship at Salisbury State University for the fall 2001-2002 academic year.

Currently a senior at Arcadia High School, Neighbors, daughter of Tina Holston and Jim Muir, will be a freshmen nursing major at SSU in the fall.

“Kayla was chosen based on her excellent academic performance, as well as, her potential for professional nursing leadership and service,” said Mary DiBartolo,  SSU Nursing Department scholarship coordinator.  “We look forward to her serving the Eastern Shore of Virginia as an outstanding registered nurse in the future.”

The Margaret Johnson Elmore Nursing Scholarship is awarded to an academically gifted student who resides in Virginia’s Accomack or North Hampton counties and is attending or planning to attend SSU as a nursing major. Eligible recipients receive up to $3,000 for each academic year for up to four years.
