Hands Across Campus May 3"

SALISBURY, MD -- Dr. Janet Dudley-Eshbach, Salisbury State University president, welcomes visitors at 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, in Red Square outside Caruthers Hall for Hands Across Campus as part of the University's Multicultural Festival.

The event marks the culmination of the week devoted to raising awareness of campus diversity, said Vaughn White, director of SSU's Multiethnic Student Services who helped plan the events.

Students, faculty, staff and guests are invited to join hands around the center of campus to demonstrate "unity in the community."

A variety of entertainment follows in Red Square from 12:30-3 p.m. including SSU's Concert Choir, Steel Kings, Keith Marks jazz group and O'Samba Afro Brazilian Dance Company. Near the pergola, Djimo Kouyate demonstrates African musical instruments and a photographer takes pictures of visitors in Pacific Rim native costume. The SSU Children's Theatre Ensemble performs a Native American play on the Fulton Hall lawn.
