Julliard - Dana Bhatnagar concert

SALISBURY, MD--- The Salisbury University Juilliard Series presents soprano Dana Bhatnagar on Wednesday, March 6, at 7 p.m. in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall. Admission is free and the public is cordially invited.

Bhatnagar earned her master's degree in vocal performance at Juilliard. There she played the roles of Miss Wordsworth in Albert Herring, Barbarina and Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro and Cobweb in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Born in Maryland and now residing in Pennsylvania, Bhatnagar received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University. She performed extensively with the Opera Theater of Pittsburgh and the River City Brass Band. Bhatnagar also soloed with the CMU Concert Choir under the baton of Dr. Robert Page.

A featured soloist in the Vocal Chamber Music Program at the Aspen Music Festival in 1999, she also performed as a soloist in Europe. In the summer of 2000 she performed with the Spoleto Festival USA as a Priestess in its production of Iphigenie en Tauride and sang at the BASOTI Institute in San Francisco as Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro. During the 2000-2001 school year, Bhatnagar, in addition to opera roles, performed on numerous Liederabend and Songbook programs as well as Alice Tully Hall concerts of new compositions with the Juilliard Orchestra. She most recently presented The Mirabai Songs by John Harbison in Alice Tully Hall as a recipient of the Juilliard School's Vocal Honors Recital and completed a recital tour in Texas for the Piatigorsky Foundation. She also attended the summer of 2001 Aspen Music Festival.
