NCUR at SU: Frequently Asked Questions
1. Where are the information and registration desks?
There are NCUR Information Stations in the lobbies of Caruthers, Devilbiss, Fulton, Henson and Holloway Halls, the Guerrieri University Center and Maggs Gym. Conference Registration is in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center.
2. Is there a lounge area where I can meet and mingle with other students? Is there a place to hang out?
The Fireside Lounge in Guerrieri University Center features computers (with Internet access), televisions, video games, pool tables and comfortable furniture. Food is available at the adjacent Gull’s Nest, and around the corner at Cool Beans Cyber Café.
3. Is there a lounge for faculty?
NCUR and SU faculty are invited to enjoy refreshments 8 a.m.-5 p.m. in the Social Room of Holloway Hall.
4. Can I attend other sessions?
All presentation and plenary speaker sessions are open to NCUR registrants and the SU community.
5. Where do I go for coffee? How about food or vending?
Check out Cool Beans Cyber Café, serving Starbucks® coffee, smoothies, pastries, sandwiches and other snacks. Located in Guerrieri University Center, Cool Beans is open until midnight Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. Friday and noon – 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Or visit the Gull’s Nest, around the corner, for subs, salads, wraps, hot dogs, burgers, fries and more. Hours are 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. Saturday.
Coffee and food are also available for purchase at satellite dining locations on the first floors of Caruthers, Fulton and Henson Halls.
Free continental breakfast is available 7-10 a.m. in the Fireside Lounge in Guerrieri University Center, Henson and Caruthers Halls. You must have a badge to pick up your continental breakfast. Free boxed lunches are served on the Henson lawn and Red Square 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday and 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday and Saturday. You must have a badge to pick up your boxed lunch.
6. What if I need access to the Internet, a computer or printer?
NCUR participants may use computer labs in Fulton Hall. Computers are also located in Cool Beans Cyber Café in the Guerreri University Center. Log in using the username/password supplied in the NCUR welcome package.
Wireless Internet access is available in Blackwell Library, at all satellite dining locations and in Cool Beans and Gull’s Nest in the Guerrieri University Center. Visit Information Stations for details about security requirements.
7. What can I do for fun?
On Thursday night, NCUR registrants have the option of three events. The Bronze Medal Activity provides access to Salisbury University’s Maggs Gym free of charge. The Silver Medal Activity ($5) includes a visit to Crown Sports Center, a state-of-the-art indoor athletic complex. The Gold Medal Activity ($20) features a paintball game at Delmarva Paintball. On Friday night, NCUR participants can hang out at a Beach Party on the lawn of Henson Science Hall, starting at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy music, food, drinks and the sandy beach environment with friends. The cost is $30. Sign up at Registration in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center. At 7 p.m., NCUR visitors may join SU fans at Sea Gull Stadium (Wayne Street) to watch the nationally ranked men’s lacrosse team take on St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Admission is free with an NCUR badge.
On Saturday afternoon, there are excursions including cycling on Assateague Island, a St. Michaels cruise and walking tour, a NASA and Wallops Flight Facility tour and hiking at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. A waiting list is available at Registration.
8. Whom do I call if I get in trouble?
If NCUR registrants are in trouble for any reason, immediately call Salisbury University Police at 410-543-6222. For more routine questions, the NCUR line is 410-677-5046 or 1-866-812-4277.
9. What if I have special health needs or require medical assistance?
A First Aid Station is in the Maggs Center lobby. For emergencies, call 911.
10. Where do I park on campus?
Vehicles will be directed to the Dresser Parking Lot, located off Bateman Street. Charter buses will be directed to the Asbury Church Parking Lot, located off Dogwood Drive.
11. Is there public transportation, shuttles or a taxi service in Salisbury?
There is shuttle service provided by SU.
Local Shuttle service:
SU will provide free round-trip shuttle service from Salisbury/Delmar hotels to the SU campus. Schedules will be available at hotels and at NCUR Information Stations. Shuttles will run every half hour:
Thursday, April 10 7 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Friday, April 11 7 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Saturday, April 12 7 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Local Airport Shuttle service:
SU will provide free shuttle service from Salisbury-Ocean City Wicomico Regional Airport to Salisbury/Delmar hotels ONLY. The shuttle will meet all flights on Wednesday, April 9, and the 10:10 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. flights on Thursday, April 10. Taxi service is available for other arrival times (see below).
SU will provide free shuttle service from the SU campus to the Salisbury-Ocean City Wicomico Regional Airport. Sign up at Registration in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center or call 410-677-5046. The service is available Friday, April 11, and Saturday, April 12, from 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Taxi service is available for other departures (see below).
Several hotels provide shuttle service to the Salisbury-Ocean City Wicomico Regional Airport. NCUR participants should inquire at their hotel.

12. What time does the last bus leave Salisbury University?
On Thursday and Friday night, the last bus leaves Salisbury University at 10 p.m. On Saturday afternoon, the last bus leaves Salisbury University at 1:30 p.m.
