Nabb Center Participates in Oral History Project

SALISBURY, MD ---The Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History & Culture at Salisbury University is one of the regional study centers participating in the Maryland Historical Society’s (MdHS) oral history project.

The MdHS recently launched a statewide effort to collect oral histories for its upcoming exhibition, “Looking for Liberty in Maryland,” which opens in November. The exhibit explores Marylanders’ pursuit of liberty from the colonial period to the present.

In the coming months, folklorist and historian Dr. Richard Vidutis will travel throughout the state conducting interviews. The oral histories he collects will represent a broad view of Marylanders’ experiences over the past century. “This work will serve as a means to preserve these important stories to come,” Vidutis said.
