Pfanstiehl to address Academy for Leadership in Education

SALISBURY, MD ------The second session of the Academy for Leadership in Education on Friday, October 4, at Salisbury University features Eliot Pfanstiehl, program facilitator for Leadership Maryland. Educators from Worcester, Wicomico, Dorchester, Caroline and Somerset counties in Maryland, Accomack County in Virginia and the Capitol District in Delaware are attending.

Sponsored by SU's Seidel School of Education and the Center for Professional Development Pfanstiehl's presentation addresses leadership theory and styles, learning styles and group dynamic processes.

The executive director of Strathmore Hall Arts Center, Pfanstiehl is a graduate of George Washington University. He has been chairman of the Maryland State Arts Council, the Maryland Citizens for the Arts and the Maryland Leadership Workshops, Inc. He has facilitated over 200 non-profit retreats, leadership training workshops and educational conferences. Since their inception, he has served as program facilitator for Leadership Maryland, Leadership Montgomery and Leadership Allegany, and was in the inaugural class of Leadership Washington.

The Academy for Leadership in Education was designed to develop leaders in education and to foster an ongoing relationship with business leaders and educators.

The session is at the Scarborough Student Leadership Center from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Continental breakfast and lunch are provided.
