Stephen Dobyns - Writers-on-the-Shore Series - May 2

SALISBURY, MD--  Stephen Dobyns, author of 20 novels including Dead Girls (1997) and Boy in Water (1999), talks about his work on Thursday, May 2, at 8 p.m. in the Worcester Room in the Commons building on the Salisbury University campus.

Co-sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Review, the SU student literary journal, Dobyns' presentation is part of the University's Writers-on-the Shore lecture series. Admission is free and the public is invited.

Dobyns is also the author of 10 volumes of poetry, including Velocities: New and Selected Poems, 1966-1992 (1994), Common Carnage (1996) and Pallbearers Envying the One Who Rides (1999), a collection of short stories, Eating Naked (2000), and a collection of essays, Best Words, Best Order (1996).

Dobyns is the recipient of the Lamont Award of the Academy of American Poets and the Melville Cane Award of the Poetry Society of America, and fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment of the Arts.
