'Street Drugs Exposed' Presentation Held November 13-14

SALISBURY, MD---How can parents, youth leaders and even doctors recognize the signs of prescription and illegal drug abusers?

Dr. Harold L. Crossley, professor emeritus of the University of Maryland Dental School, answers this question and more during the presentation “Street Drugs Exposed: What Your Kids, Patients and Clients Are Not Telling You” 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday, November 13, at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center. An encore presentation is 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday, November 14.

Other topics covered include why some people become addicted while others do not, how to recognize and manage the “doctor hopper,” the origins and action of some commonly abused substances and the biochemical basis for addiction.

Sponsored, in part, by Salisbury University, the SU Department of Nursing and the Eastern Shore Dental Society, general admission is $10, including lunch and snacks. Admission for professionals is $50, which includes six continuing education credits. Those attending must be age 21 or older.
