Writers-on-the-Shore Reading November 8 

SALISBURY, MD---American Book Award winner Kimiko Hahn opens the Writers-on-the-Shore lecture series on Thursday, November 8, at 8 p.m. in the Montgomery Room of the Commons on the Salisbury University campus.  A native of New York, Hahn has won numerous accolades including a Lila Wallace-Readers Digest Writers Award, and fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.  A graduate of the University of Iowa and Columbia University, she currently teaches at Queens College/CUNY.

Hahn's poetry draws on Asian and American traditions.  Works such as "of boys in the empty lot" and "The Izu Dancer" are reflective of her ability to draw upon real life situations for creative inspiration.     

Hahn's presentation, free and open to the public, is sponsored by SU's Multiethnic Student Services and Office of Cultural Affairs and Museum Programs.
