Dr. Arlene White recently selected for Who's Who Among America's Teachers
SALISBURY, MD -- Dr. Arlene White of the Department of Modern Languages and Intercultural Studies at Salisbury University recently attended the 49th annual Northeast Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages in New York City.
White was the author of the chapter on foreign language education titled "Developing Teacher Leaders: An Investment in the Future" in the conference volume Teaching in Changing Times - The Courage to Lead.
With Dr. Frank Medley, from West Virginia University, she co-chaired a panel discussion about teacher education issues in the new millennium. White has been asked to serve on that committee of the New Visions in Foreign Language, a national panel to provide direction for the foreign language profession. She also presented a session,
"The Courage to Teach Reading Well," with Susan Murphy, foreign language and ESOL specialist from Frederick County, MD.
