Scott Hawkins Performs at SU May 8
SALISBURY, MD -- Pianist Scot Hawkins, instructor of piano at the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music at Shenandoah (VA) University, performs at Salisbury University on Wednesday, May 8, at 7 p.m. Free and open to the public, the concert is in the Great Hall in Holloway Hall. Hawkins, who received his B.A. in English from SU in 1992 and studied piano with Linda Cockey, will perform works by Johannes Brahms, Robert Shumann and Samuel Barber.
Hawkins is pursuing his doctorate in piano pedagogy at the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music at Catholic University, where he has studied with Tom Mastroianni, Luis de Mauro Castro and Chiara Selby. He teaches both private and class piano, and is director of piano for the Institute of Musical Arts, the community/preparatory department of the CU music school.
Hawkins is an active performer, teacher and adjudicator in the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia area. He has performed with the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra at SU.
