Lecture on human rights at U.S.-Mexican border Oct. 23

SALISBURY, MD ---Dr. Timothy Dunn, assistant professor of sociology at Salisbury University, presents "Human Rights and Immigration at the U.S.-Mexican Border" on Wednesday, October 23, at 7 p.m. in the Wicomico Room, Guerrieri University Center.

Dunn earned a doctorate in sociology from the University of Texas at Austin. His work has appeared in numerous professional journals and anthologies and his book, The Militarization of the U.S.-Mexico Border, 1978-1992: Low Intensity Conflict Doctrine Comes Home, was published in 1996. That year he also directed a documentary video for the El Paso Border Rights Commission. Dunn, who has worked extensively with Hispanic groups both in the U.S. and Central America, joined SU in 1999. He is currently working on a second book due out in 2004.
