Retail and Restaurant Smart Start Offered January 28

SALISBURY, MD ---Being the owner/manager of a small retail or restaurant business can be a fun and rewarding experience-or it can be a difficult and demanding job.

Find out how to make a business exciting for owners and customers by attending the Small Business and Development Center seminar, "Retail and Restaurant Smart Start," on Tuesday, January 28, in the Commons building, Frederick Room, at Salisbury University.

The seminar consists of two tracks: the morning session, 9a.m.-noon, covers retail issues; and the afternoon session, 1-4 p.m., covers issues specific to restaurant owners. The seminar cost is $25 per track (three-hour session).

The course does not cover the "form of business," licensing, tax registration, setting up books or other generic information covered in a regular SBDC "Smart Start" course. It does expose participants to business concerns unique to the retail and restaurant world.

The SBDC is an outreach program affiliated with SU's Franklin P. Perdue School of Business. To register call Steffanie Malkus at 410-543-6516 or email sjmalkus@salisbury.edu.
