Spain's Religious Legacy lecture on November 6

SALISBURY, MD ---Salisbury University presents "Spain's Religious Legacy in Latin American Culture: Not Just a Sunday Obligation" on Wednesday, November 6, at 7 p.m. in the Wicomico Room, Guerrieri University Center.

Dr. Keith Brower addresses the religious beliefs brought by Spanish missionaries to the New World and the life and world views that accompanied such beliefs. He explores how those beliefs permeate Latin American culture among present-day non-believers.

Brower is SU professor of Spanish, director of SU programs in Malaga, Spain, and chair of the Department of Modern Languages and Intercultural Studies. The author of over 40 books, articles and reviews on Spanish, Spanish-American and Brazilian culture, he is currently researching and writing a book on the role and influence of Catholicism in Spanish and Latin American culture.
